New Art - Countless Ages of the Mummy |

"Countless Ages of the Mummy" is my latest illustration. It was created with black Prismacolor and Verithin wax pencil on 20" x 30" Letramax illustration board and is coated with an archival fixative. Click on the thumbnail to see the full image. This is a large poster-sized original piece. I'm experimenting now with art that uses math elements such as the Droste effect. I've incorporated the effect into this picture to represent the countless spiraling ages during which the mummy has lain in his sleep.

New Art - Moon Skull Rider |

A new picture entitled "Moon Skull Rider" has been added to the galleries. It's a Prismacolor drawing / painting on 9" x 12" orange Canson paper. This is one of my rare forays into color and uses the constrained pallette approach to which I'm becoming accustimed. "Moon Skull Rider" is a nice piece for a portfolio-sized collection and would look good framed in a fantasy themed room. |

I've added a new sketch to the Skate Girl gallery called "Skate Girl #13". It was created with Prismacolor Verithin wax pencil on 9" x 12" Canson paper and is listed at $90. These sketches are so fun to draw and I look forward to the reaction from patrons when the auctions really get started. For anybody keeping a collection of artist's original sketches, these are a great way to expand your investment and enjoy quality original pinup art for much less than the price of larger works such as those sold at conventions and galleries. |

"Mairead - the Moon Skull Fairy" is the latest work added to the Elves and Fairies gallery. She is rendered with .3mm HB and .5mm 2B graphite, with vine charcoal on 8.3" x 10.7" heavy bond Bristol paper with a matte ground. The work is finished with an archival safe fixative. The model is one of my favorites to work with because she is so natural and has done well with posing for other Moon Skull pictures over the last three years. Recently she moved away so with the emergence of the Skate Girls series this may be one of the last Moon Skull fairies I do for a while. Yours in a wood and glass frame - personalized as you wish for $120. |

New Color Images in Fairy Gallery |

I've uploaded some new color images to the Fairies and Elves gallery. These pictures are from 2004 and were sold at auction. They were done with Prismacolor on 9" x 12" Artagain paper. I just love Prismacolor. It's so vibrant and easy to apply and gives great results against the correct substrate. I don't often work with color because my color vision is so impaired, but Prismacolor makes it tolerable. |
