I'm an author, illustrator and software developer with 20 years of experience. My work is mainly from popular genres including classic fantasy, science fiction, history and pop culture. In 2007 I published my first illustrated fantasy puzzle book titled "Emblems from the Runes of Magness". It features elaborate illustrations in the mannerist style along with a custom secret runic language that I invented. I've been a guest artist at many conventions such as AdventureCon and Classic Movie Monster-Con. For two years running I have been a juried artist and guest speaker at Dragon*Con - the largest pop culture convention in the Eastern US. I've created designs for print, film and commercial products. For instance I designed the logo and livery for Malibu Boat's new wakeboard boat the AXIS and designed custom trim for the Tom Cat II award-winning production hot-rod. My work was featured at the 50th Anniversary of Rock & Roll celebration at Graceland in 2004. And I have two paintings in the collection of the Elvis Presley estate. My latest work includes the "Recursion" series which focuses on Droste Effect images that use math to repeat the subject. I'm also working on a series of pin-up art called "Skate Girls". I hope you enjoy my work. Please email me with any questions via chris.range(at)gmail.com or through the Contact Form.
